Our product range includes 45-degree and 90-degree elbows, 180-degree returns, equal and reducing tees, concentric and eccentric reducers, crosses, pipe caps and lap-joint stub ends.

Fittings are available in carbon steel, low-temperature carbon steel, alloy steel, high-yield steel, stainless steel, duplex and super duplex materials. TYPES OF BUTTWELD FITTINGS

Pipe Elbows

A 45-degree elbow provides a gradual directional change, while a 90-degree elbow changes the direction of a pipeline by 90 degrees.

Long-radius elbows generally have a centreline radius equal to 1.5 times the nominal pipe size. They are widely used in process piping because their gradual curvature helps reduce turbulence and pressure loss.

Short-radius elbows have a tighter radius and are normally selected where installation space is limited, subject to the project piping specification.

Equal and Reducing Tees

An equal tee creates a 90-degree branch with all three connections having the same nominal size. A reducing tee provides a smaller branch connection from the main pipe.

Reducing tee sizes should be stated as run size × run size × branch size, such as 8-inch × 8-inch × 4-inch.

Concentric and Eccentric Reducers

A concentric reducer connects pipes of different diameters while maintaining a common centreline. It is commonly used in vertical piping and selected process applications.

An eccentric reducer has one flat side and is frequently used in pump suction and horizontal piping systems. The required flat-side orientation should follow the piping design.

Pipe Caps, Crosses and Stub Ends

Pipe caps permanently close the end of pipes, headers or branch connections. Buttweld crosses provide two opposing branches and are available in equal or reducing configurations.

Lap-joint stub ends are welded to the pipe and used with lap-joint flanges. They are commonly selected for stainless steel and corrosion-resistant piping systems where easy bolt-hole alignment is required.

• Carbon steel: ASTM A234 WPB and WPC
• Low-temperature carbon steel: ASTM A420 WPL3 and WPL6
• Alloy steel: ASTM A234 WP5, WP9, WP11, WP22 and WP91
• High-yield steel: ASTM A860 WPHY 42, 52, 60, 65 and 70
• Stainless steel: ASTM A403 WP304, WP304L, WP316 and WP316L
• Duplex and super duplex: ASTM A815 WPS31803, WPS32205, WPS32750 and WPS32760

Material selection should consider design pressure, temperature, corrosion conditions and piping specifications. NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 compliance may be specified for sour-service applications, subject to material, heat-treatment, hardness and testing requirements.
